A redditor asked the following question:

Question#

When a JIRA ticket (user story) is currently being worked on by a dev and you realized you should have added another acceptance criteria, do you add it to that ticket or create a new ticket?

I would create a new ticket if the story has been completed and closed out but I was wondering how others deal with a user story that is still being developed and isn’t ready for testing.

My answer#

Agile isn’t about tickets, it’s about doing the most important stuff. That’s the hard part, because it means you have to leave the less important stuff for later, or never. If the new requirement is important, you should do it now. Do you need to create a new ticket or use the old one? It doesn’t really matter.

Another redditor asked me a question#

Agreed but why is it hard to leave less important stuff until later or never?

Perfectionism?#

Maybe it’s a problem with the people in my team. Developers are usually too perfectionist, they always want to do better than they can. But sometimes it’s better to stop making things perfect and do something more valuable instead.
