Disagreement on Project Status

Project I’m managing was delayed roughly 3 weeks due to issues with the code. Team agreed to a revised date for go live and so far testing has been going well and we’re on track to meet the revised date. My stakeholder is still considering this project “delayed” based on the original delivery date. I consider it “on track” based on revised timeline (which he approved). What’s the correct answer here?

My suggestion#

I read the OP’s question twice and I can’t find any agile in it. This is all project management, deadlines, fixed scope, fixed date, schedule, phases (like testing), etc. Agile is completely different, there is no schedule for the whole project.

Instead of it, you have a goal and a rough idea of how to get there. In every planning, the team picks the most important thing they should do towards the goal and then they do it. During the iteration and also after the team with stakeholders verify the progress, change plans, etc. Then you repeat everything. Basically, it’s a Deming cycle.
