A redditor asked the following question:

Question#

Team won’t commit to Sprint Goals, how do you deal with it?

My team has recently been refusing to commit to any sprint goals. Their argument is that, since we have a good understanding of our velocity and the product management team provides the tickets, there’s no need for them to actively commit to specific goals. How did you deal with it or address this challenge?

My answer#

“Product management team provides tickets” — I think that’s the main problem. I think the developers are right and I’m on their side. If their job is to complete tickets one by one, why do they need sprint goals? If you want to have sprint goals, you need to stop working like a feature factory.
